Donate

The Access Support Network raises a part of our operating budget through donations. The support of individuals and businesses is vital to our continuing ability to provide comprehensive services to our growing number of clients.

All money donated to the ASN stays in San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties, helping residents of these counties in their challenges living with HIV, AIDS, and/or Hep C.

Money donated is tax-deductible. As ASN is a non-profit (501 (c) 3) agency, your donated dollars can benefit you at tax time.

Your donation can be made in memory of a loved one, in honor of a special occasion, or toward a specific program such as our Steve Weiss AIDS Living Memorial Grove.

Checks can be mailed directly to:
Access Support Network
P.O. Box 12158
San Luis Obispo, CA 93406

OR, you can donate to ASN’s Endowment Fund, donate appreciated stocks, etc. If you are interested in this program, don’t hesitate to contact David Kilburn, ASN’s Executive Director, at (805)-781-3660.

Clerical Work:

Volunteers participate in various office tasks. Projects include office receptionists, data entry, bulk mailings, chart filing, general office organization, food requests, food pantry organization, and other related tasks.

Fundraising/Public Awareness:

This category covers volunteer involvement in special events such as the AIDS Life Cycle, Food Pantry Drives, and other community and fundraising events. We also have volunteers who are trained to educate the community on the impacts of HIV, Hep C, and / or Harm Reduction. They present at community organizations, schools and other presentations.

Grove Work:

Those who enjoy the outdoors, gardening, or landscaping may be interested in participating in our Grove Workdays. A team of volunteers meets at the Grove (located off Highway 1, in El Chorro Regional Park), performing duties including weeding, watering, digging, planting, mulching, trimming, etc. Grove Workdays are to be announced; don’t hesitate to contact ASN for more information.

Specialized Areas:

We have many volunteers with areas of expertise, such as legal assistance or graphic design.

If you have any questions regarding the volunteer program, don’t hesitate to contact our Volunteer Coordinator at (805)-781-3660.

Donating a Car

Do you have a car you would like to donate and get a tax deduction? If so, contact Cars 4 Causes and name the AIDS Support Network as the beneficiary.

Donating Food

ASN’s Food Pantry is always in need of the basics. If you’d like to donate some food directly, visit our Food Pantry page for more information.

Donating Time

One of the most important ways our community supports the agency is through the gift of time. ASN’s Volunteer Program allows people to assist clients and staff directly. Please call ASN’s Volunteer Coordinator at 805-781-3660 if interested.
