The Access Support Network is a community-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to support our neighbors and loved ones living with HIV and/or Hep C. We strive to improve the independence of our clients through individualized services.
Working toward a healthy community, ASN also offers harm reduction and prevention education opportunities for schools, church groups, services clubs, and businesses. For us, ensuring that everyone understands that this is a preventable disease is paramount.
Access Support Network’s mobile outreach van regularly goes out into areas of the community most affected by poverty, drug use, and homelessness in order to bring services directly to those most in need. ASN’s mobile outreach staff are nonjudgmental, compassionate, and are dedicated to improving the health of people who use drugs.
All services are free to anyone in the community, low-barrier, and DOES NOT require abstinence or drug testing as a component of care. Peer support staff are also available on site to provide case management services to those who need additional support.
Your support fuels the ASN’s mission of ending the HIV and Hep C epidemics, supporting people in their battle against HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C.
As a non-profit, the ASN greatly relies on the generosity of our community. Your gift/donation ensures that our community members living with HIV and/or Hepatitis C continue to receive life saving medical care and social services.
From community outreach and testing events, to fundraisers, to daily office operations, there is a wide range of volunteer opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds!
Items such as fresh produce, toiletries, and personal care items are highly needed among our clients. See here for a current list of items we’re accepting and how to donate them.

The Steve Weiss AIDS Living Memorial Grove, a native plant jewel located in El Chorro Regional Park, serves our community as a place of reflection, education, and awareness. Founded in 1994 and home to over 200 native Californian trees, shrubs, and grasses, the Access Support Network continues to develop and maintain the Steve Weiss AIDS Living Memorial Grove on three acres of El Chorro Regional Park.
The ASN remains the sole community-based, non-profit organization in San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Barbara Counties that provides supportive services to residents living with HIV/AIDS, Hep C, and their loved ones. The agency strives to improve its clients’ quality of life and independence by providing support individually and meeting the unmet needs of our community members.
